AEIDL

The European Association for Information on Local Development, was founded by like-minded individuals who believed that European integration could make a positive contribution to citizenship and to the sustainable development of local communities.

AEIDL is routinely involved in projects aimed at bringing Europe closer to its citizens, promoting interaction between citizens and civil society organisations and promoting intercultural dialogue.

With its roots in the social economy, AEIDL has been contributing to the process of European integration, and to supporting the actors involved, since its foundation in 1988. It is now widely recognised for its distinctive approach to viewing markets from the perspective of their contribution to social progress, and to upholding a respect for individuals and the importance of local initiative.

AEIDL is in charge of the overall project coordination as well as the setting up and monitoring of the three Communities of Practice of EMEN, which will network organizations supporting migrant entrepreneurs.

 ALDA

The European Association for Local Democracy – promotes active European citizenship and has more than 270 members from over 35 countries from Europe and European neighbourhood countries. ALDA focuses on activities facilitating cooperation between local authorities and civil society. With different projects like URGENT, PATHS (Youth for Solidarity Economy and Entrepreneurship in Europe) or EMEN, ALDA is promoting cooperation and innovation and is fostering education, training, mutual learning and social entrepreneurship for citizens from different cultural backgrounds, particularly for citizens who are often excluded from the decision-making processes, like migrants.

DIESIS

Since 1997 DIESIS has supported the development of the social economy in Europe through the implementation of knowledge-based activities, such as training, project design, consulting and advisory services, technical assistance and research. DIESIS was able to bring the voice of Social economy entrepreneurship in the European dimension and become an active player in this field. It is a founding member of UnionMigrantNet, the network of contact points provide info and assistance to migrants and would-be migrants, and an active member of the European Migration Forum, the civil society dialogue platform on migration, asylum and migrant integration.

Within the EMEN Partnership DIESIS support the management and coordination and is responsible for the dissemination and networking activities.

Social Impact

The non-for-profit Social Impact is one of the larges support organizations for inclusive & social entrepreneurs in Germany. By cooperating with diverse public and corporate partners, Social Impact has established a unique infrastructure to support start-ups and entrepreneurs with various backgrounds. In addition to its 8 incubators across Germany, SI is involved in advocacy, research and transnational projects supporting the inclusive and social entrepreneurship development in Germany, Europe and beyond.

THUAS-FINE

researches, advises and teaches on financial inclusion and is part of the European Microfinance network (EMN) with 90 members and partners located in 21 European countries.

Financial inclusion is central in all practice based research undertaken by the Research Group FINE of the Hague University of Applied Science. We belief that money (financial capital) is to be used to make things happen and ideally to add value to society at large.

Access to finance is crucial for people to be able to make their dreams come true.  Next to that it is important that migrant entrepreneurs generate Benefits with financial services reach migrant entrepreneurs and that they have Control over their money/financial capital.

The Research Group THUAS-FINE will challenge participants of CoP 2 – Access Finance to partake in practice based research to generate more insights on this ABC. The results of our work will be helpful for policy makers and practitioners to design and implement effective financial services for migrant entrepreneurs.

UNITEE

New European Business Confederation, plays a crucial role in Europe by representing entrepreneurs and professionals with a migrant background, whom we refer to as « New Europeans »: people who live in Europe but have connections with more than just the country where they live. UNITEE’s mission is to advocate the interests of its members at European level, as they create tangible assets in terms of international trade, job creation, innovation.

EUROCHAMBRES

represents over 20 million businesses in Europe through 45 members (43 national associations of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and two transnational chamber organisations) and a European network of 1700 regional and local chambers.

Entrepreneurship is one of the axes around which EUROCHAMBRES’ activity revolves. The association has a major role in representing and advising entrepreneurs, and does so through its members and the various projects for business and entrepreneurship support such as Erasmus for Young EntrepreneursEE-HUBBusiness Beyond Borders, etc. EUROCHAMBRES is also a partner in Labour Int, and EU-funded project which aims to promote programmes of migrant inclusion in the labour market for the direct benefit of asylum-seekers and refugees

ETUC

The ETUC is the voice of workers and represents 45 million members from 89 national trade union confederations in 39 countries, plus 10 European trade union federations. Its UnionMigrantNet is a European network of contact points for migrant workers promoted by trade unions. They provide free information and assistance to migrants. DIESIS is a member of the UnionMigrantNet bringing on board Social Economy Employers experience in assistance and integration of migrants.

REVES

Promotes the social economy in cities and regions in Europe. It represents more than 60 local/regional authorities and social economy organisations from 18 EU Member States (Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary Croatia, Slovakia, Greece, and Bulgaria).

REVES activities are based on 3 pillars:

  1. Exchange on good and bad practice/Training (REVES Award on partnerships between social economy and public authorities; Integration of Migrants; (alternatives to) public procurement etc.)
  2. Experimentation/Joint project development (Territorial Social Responsibility etc.)
  3. Dialogue with European and national policy-makers (vice-presidency of Social Economy Europe; work with the EP, CoR, OECD etc.; ESIF-SD expert group etc.)

CECOP-CICOPA

CECOP-CICOPA Europe (http://www.cecop.coop/) is the European confederation of cooperatives active in industry and services. It affiliates 27 member organisations in 15 European countries. It is the voice of 35,000 worker cooperatives and 12,000 social cooperatives. Most of them are characterized by the fact that the staff in its majority is made up of member‐owners. Several thousands of those enterprises are specialised in the reintegration of disadvantaged and marginalised workers (disabled, long-term unemployed, migrants ex-prisoners, addicts, etc.). CECOP promotes cooperative enterprises and the role these can play in developing and supporting quality employment, employee ownership and social inclusion.

EURADA

EURADA networks European regional development organisations, and its 65 members in 21 countries in the European Union and beyond include both public authorities and their business partners.

EURADA encourages the exchanges of information and experience between members in order to provide the emergence and development of the cooperation between development agencies of several countries (even in the non-EU countries) and European Institutions as well as among development agencies, by being part of various territorial development projects and support programs for SMEs and Social Enterprises.

KMOP

KMOP is one of the oldest Greek NGOs with more than 40 years of experience in providing support to disadvantaged people including migrants and generally third country nationals. KMOP’s mission in supporting migrant population groups can be summarised in the provision of sustainable solutions for the improvement of their living conditions with emphasis on income generation activities and the promotion of entrepreneurship and particularly social entrepreneurship among migrants both at local and regional level.
